Weak passwords put your personal identity or business data\u00a0at risk of being compromised. How important is password security? A simple Google search for password security just now\u00a0returned over 400 million results \u2013 that\u2019s significant! I cannot overemphasize how important it is to use\u00a0<strong>STRONG<\/strong>\u00a0passwords.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use at least eight characters, with mixed case letters (upper and lower case)<\/li>\n<li>Use a password that can be typed quickly (to prevent over the shoulder spying)<\/li>\n<li>Mix alpha numeric characters in a seemingly random manner.<\/li>\n<li>Change your password regularly.<\/li>\n<li>Do NOT use words that are included in any dictionary \u2013 even encrypted, these can be cracked in seconds!!<\/li>\n<li>Do NOT use dates<\/li>\n<li>Do NOT use information that can be easily obtained about you. This includes your nickname, your pet\u2019s name, your hometown, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Do NOT use all numbers or all alphabet characters \u2013 mix them!<\/li>\n<li>Do NOT reveal your password to anyone!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>There are any number of websites that help you understand<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; how vulnerable your passwords are. One of these is\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/howsecureismypassword.net\/\">https:\/\/howsecureismypassword.net\/<\/a>\u00a0Simply enter your password and it will return how long it would take to crack it.
